Arizona Republican Attorney General Mark Brnovich is raising the alarm about the border issue. Brnovich attacked Joe Biden’s “failed” immigration policy in an interview on Fox News. “Every time you think we’ve reached rock bottom, something else happens,” he explained. “This year has seen a record influx of individuals into the nation.” Just last week, our agency was engaged in the seizure of a record amount of fentanyl. Americans are perishing. Our cities are becoming more deadly as a result of the failed policies of the Biden administration. Cartels “have assumed operational control” of the southern border, according to Brnovich, who added that Arizona has confiscated more than 6 million fentanyl tablets in the last week alone.
“They halted construction of the border wall. They ceased implementing deportation orders, a violation of Title 8 of the United States Code. And we currently have a litigation before the United States Supreme Court, which I will argue in February, in which the Biden Administration has effectively offered incentives, including government benefits, to persons who have entered the nation unlawfully. So, basically, the Biden administration inherited a healthy economy, energy independence, and a safe border, and in less than a year, they’ve effectively given the American people soaring inflation, record oil and gas costs, and now the cartels have grabbed control of our border.” Brnovich stated
“Well, Arthel, it’s just one step,” Brnovich continued. “And I would say that he is attempting to re-implement that because of the lawsuits. That was also a case in which I and a few of my colleagues were engaged. It was critical to keep the Biden Administration responsible. That regulation effectively states that if you want to file an asylum claim, you must do so in Mexico. However, this is only one element of the puzzle. Let’s take a breather. I used to be a gang prosecutor, and I’ve been a prosecutor for years, so it’s all about the facts and evidence.”
“When you talk to Border Patrol officials, they tell you that there are a record number of individuals unlawfully crossing, and they have never seen got-aways, which are people who aren’t being recorded and are dodging detection. We know that in Arizona alone, about 9 million illicit or counterfeit fentanyl tablets were recovered last year. Our agency collaborated with Scottsdale Police and the DEA on the bust. There was enough fentanyl powder and tablets in one raid just two weeks earlier, more over 6 million pills. And fentanyl is one of those medications where two milligrams may be fatal. And that isn’t staying in Arizona, nor is it staying in Texas. It will have an impact on all of our communities”, he concluded.
