You may be asking the question, “Where is the mainstream media hysteria?” regarding the discovery of classified documents in two locations belonging to President Joe Biden.
The mainstream media is treating this case very differently than they did with former President Trump’s case.
Yesterday, a second batch of classified documents related to Biden was located. This comes just two days after the White House admitted that classified documents were being housed at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington, D.C.
Some of the files located in that office, marked “top secret”, were discovered on November 2, 2022, ahead of the midterm elections. We only just learned of them earlier this week, however.
The location of the newly found documents is separate from the first batch, but has not been disclosed nor has the level of classification.
In the first batch of classified documents, there were intelligence memos and “other materials concerning Iran, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom,” according to CNN.
While in Mexico City, Biden made his first public comments regarding this discovery. He was “surprised” to learn about the documents.
“I don’t know what’s in the documents,” the president said. “My lawyers have not suggested I ask what documents they were. I’ve turned over the boxes, they’ve turned over the boxes to the [National ]Archives, and we’re cooperating fully, cooperating fully with the review, which I hope will be finished soon, and there’ll be more detail at that time.”
We all know that Biden doesn’t know much, so no one is surprised by his statement. And of course, he’ll get a pass from having to answer any tough questions on the matter.
Republican lawmakers, however, were quick to point out that Biden should receive the same treatment that Trump received.
Senator Lindsey Graham told Fox News, “If you believe a special counsel’s necessary to assure the public about the handling of classified documents by Donald Trump, you should apply a special counsel to the mishandling of classified documents by President Biden when he was vice president.”
“The idea of prosecuting President Trump for mishandling classified information after this has gone down dramatically,” Graham continued.
Senator Josh Hawley offered a two-word Tweet on the topic, “Special counsel.”
“How many classified documents did this guy have?” the House GOP’s official Twitter account asked.
“‘Totally irresponsible,’” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer quoted, referring to Biden’s comment about Trump having classified documents at Mar-a-Lago in a 60 Minutes interview last fall.
The House Judiciary Committee asked a legitimate question considering what the FBI in raiding Mar-a-Lago on August 8, 2022, “Did the @FBI raid the Biden Center?”
“No one is buying the White House is telling us the truth,” Representative Darrell Issa tweeted.
Once again, we have two different standards, one for Democrats and an entirely different set for Republicans.
The mainstream media will spin it and make excuses for Biden and his cronies while touting the line, “No one is above the law” at the same time.
