VP Pence Plans To Return Back Home In Indiana After Inauguration

Vice President Mike Pence plans to return back to his hometown of Columbus, Indiana, on Wednesday after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are sworn in to office at the inauguration.

Pence, a Columbus native, and his wife Karen, are expected to fly into Columbus Municipal Airport Wednesday afternoon after Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are sworn in on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, said Bartholomew County Republican Party Chair Barb Hackman.

Pence, who has opted to attend Biden’s inauguration in lieu of President Donald Trump’s farewell event at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland because of logistical challenges, will arrive with second lady Karen Pence at Columbus Municipal Airport at 2:45 p.m. to greet friends and supporters.

The event, described by local Republicans as a “homecoming celebration,” is limited to around 50 people.

The vice president will split his time between Indiana and Washington, D.C., for the foreseeable future, according to the report.
