Florida is where ‘woke’ goes to die, but ‘woke’ is alive and well in California. It’s no wonder its population dropped by more than half a million people over the past two years.

California lawmakers keep pushing further left, but it doesn’t seem to be bad enough just yet. However, the recently amended bill might be the straw that broke the camel’s back.

According to the Daily Signal:

A recently amended California bill would add “affirming” the sexual transition of a child to the state’s standard for parental responsibility and child welfare—making any parent who doesn’t affirm transgenderism for their child guilty of abuse under California state law.

With this amendment, California courts will have complete authority under Section 3011 of California’s Family Code to remove a child from the home if the parents disapprove of LGBTQ+ ideology and want to keep a child from mutilating his or her body.

The Left has become the master of changing the language and definitions to further its causes.

In this case, the amendment will change what “health, safety, and welfare of a child” means so that anyone involved in the child’s life would “be required” to affirm gender transitions in a minor child or possibly face child abuse charges.

“Some of us warned for years this was coming,” said the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro, a former California state resident.

“This is crazy,” Twitter owner Elon Musk who has been outspoken on this topic commented.

Texas Republican Gov. Gregg Abbott tweeted, “This is insane. This will never happen in Texas. In Texas, we put parents first. Also, I signed a law protecting children from sexual mutilation.”

Media personality Graham Allen added to his retweet of Gov. Abbott’s post: “In California, a parent could lose custody for not ‘affirming’ what their child believes about their gender?! GET OUT OF CALIFORNIA!!”

No surprise, one of the authors of AB 957, Assembly Member Lori Wilson, has a child who identifies as transgender.

The other sponsor of the bill is Democrat State Sen. Scott Wiener, a gay man who worked to keep “certain” statutory rapists off the sex offender registry by granting “judges discretion over sex-offender registration in all cases involving voluntary intercourse between teenagers 14 to 17, who cannot legally consent, and adults who are less than 10 years older.”

Can you imagine your 15-year-old “voluntarily” engaging in sex with a 25-year-old and the state saying that is okay?

Founder of Facts Law Truth Justice, a civil rights advocacy group, Nicole Peterson, warns about the bill, calling it “horrifying.”

“If a parent or guardian is unwilling or simply not ready to affirm their 7-year-old’s new identity — as they transition from SpongeBob to Batman to Dora the Explorer — they can be found guilty of child abuse under AB-957 if it passes into law,” Peterson said.

“It’s not saying [“gender affirmation”] is the most important factor or determining factor,” the spokesperson for Wilson said. “It’s one of many factors that the judge should consider while working out a custody agreement.”

San Francisco Attorney Erin Friday disagrees. She is the co-leader of a parent coalition called Our Duty and contends that the legislation makes it easy to call parents abusers when they are against the transition of minor children.

“When you say that gender affirmation is in the child’s best interest for health, safety, and welfare, it takes nothing to say [non-affirmation] is now abuse — because you’re not taking care of the health, safety, and welfare if you’re not affirming them,” Friday said, according to The Free Beacon.

“We know exactly where they are going with it,” Friday said. “I didn’t think the bill could get worse, but it got worse.”

Is this all part of the plan to have state control over the children? As Hitler once said, “He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.”

Do you see why Joe Biden recently said, “There is no such thing as someone else’s child”?
