Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman is opposing the popular Hollywood far-left ideology and standing up against the “defund the police” moment saying that he is “not in the least bit” standing up with a movement that is trying to defund the police that is just “doing their job”

In an interview with Black Enterprise magazine’s Selena Hill, Freeman said, “I’m not in the least bit for defunding the police. Police work is, aside from all the negativity around it, it is very necessary for us to have them, and most of them are guys that are doing their job. They’re going about their day-to-day jobs. There are some police the never pulled their guns except in rage, that sort of thing. I don’t know.”

In this interview, Freeman was discussing his new movie “The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain” which is based on a true story surrounding the death of an elderly black veteran in 2011.

Selena Hill, the “reporter” interviewing Freeman here, is an active supporter of defunding the police like many other Hollywood activists.
She seemed triggered by Freeman’s stands. She posted a bit from this interview on her Instagram and wrote a lengthy caption saying, Freeman supporting the police is a “reflection of the [Defund the Police’s] movement’s struggle to educate certain parts of our community about what the phrase actually means.”

“To be clear, I’m an avid supporter of defunding police and the ideas behind the #AbolishThePolice movement,” she wrote. “However, this interview further affirms that the terminology we’re using to describe the reallocation of police funding to other community-based services is polarizing and prohibits the movement from garnering more support.”
