Here’s why Transgenders should not be Allowed to Play Girls Sports

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) faces intense scrutiny after allowing transgender women to compete in women sports.

The institution, in an attempt to be “gender inclusive” allowed transgender woman Lia Thomas to compete in the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championships.

During the 200-yard freestyle category, Thomas tied with Riley Gaines. But the NCAA gave the award to Thomas, as it was “necessary for public relations.”

Gaines shared how she was traumatized by the experience. They were stunned as the NCAA did not inform them that they would be sharing the shower with a transgender woman who still “very much has male public parts.”

Many of them felt violated.

But disallowing males, particularly biologically male athletes, to compete in women’s sports isn’t really about gender discrimination.

There is a science behind this.

Activists argue that men who receive cross-sex hormones have lower testosterone levels and should be allowed in women’s sports competitions.

However, studies contradict these statements. According to Dr.Gregory A. Brown, “allowing males to compete in women’s sports would do even greater harm to female athletes in a variety of other sports.”

“Similarly gifted and trained males have physical advantages over females—from greater height and weight and larger, longer, and stronger bones to larger muscles and higher rates of metabolizing and releasing energy. These innate physiological traits result in greater muscle strength; stronger throwing, hitting, and kicking; higher jumping; and faster running speeds for males, all of which create an athletic edge over females.”

This means that even if the athlete receives androgen inhibitors and cross-sex hormones, it will not negate the innate advantage of male characteristics over women.

But scientific study isn’t the only basis to justify barring men from female sports.

Since 2017. males have been stripping titles from biologically female athletes.

One instance is the women’s 200-meter dash at the 2019 New England Interscholastic Track and Field Championships where one transgender woman went on to win the championship.

Well, male athletes outrunning women athletes is not surprising.

What is unacceptable is that these sports institutions are allowing males to deprive women of titles they worked so hard to attain.

“Science tells us that, on average, male bodies have about a 10% athletic advantage over female bodies,” said May Mailman, a senior fellow with the Independent Women’s Law Center.

Even Caitlin Jenner, former male Olympian and now transgender woman, has spoken out against Lia Thomas, according to Meidaite.

“I’ve said from the beginning, biological boys should not be playing in women’s sports. We need to protect women’s sports,” Jenner said on Fox News’ “America Reports.”
