Nancy Pelosi said that she and the House are Gearing up to Decide the Winner of the Election
In the very rare and unlikely scenario that the presidential race becomes a tie, the election is moved to the House of Representatives to pick the winner. If that were to happen, each state would get one vote. Currently, the House is controlled by Democrats and on Monday Nancy Pelosi said that she and her colleagues are ready to play a “prominent role” in deciding who the next president is.
Pelosi continued, “But let’s not worry about that right now. What we want to be ready for is a big vote tomorrow to dispel any thought other than that, on January 20, Joe Biden will be inaugurated president of the United States, that we will have a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate.”

Next, she blamed the president for the state of the country and said that he has no respect for the election, the process, the Constitution, or America. “We’re ready. We’re prepared. We’ve been ready for a while because we see this irresponsibility of the president, his disrespect for the Constitution, for our democracy, and for the integrity of our elections. So we’re ready for him.”
Only a few weeks ago Pelosi mentioned the slight possibility that if the election ends in a tie she could serve as acting president for a time. The results of the election are closing in and it seems that if the decision were to end up anywhere besides the Electoral College it would be the Supreme Court of the United States.
President Trump has filed a lawsuit in Michigan for the state violating their own laws regarding election ballot counting. In a statement released from the Trump campaign, campaign manager Bill Stepien said that the state violated their own law by not allowing the Trump team “meaningful access to numerous counting locations to observe the opening of ballots and the counting process.”
