Liberal Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor will not attend an in-person oral argument this week because of Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch’s “refusal to wear a mask” according to an NPR report.

Justice Sotomayor is now the only Supreme Court Justice who wears a mask on the bench since “last fall when, amid a marked decline in COVID-19 cases, the justices resumed in-person arguments for the first time since the onset of the pandemic,” NPR reports.

Sotomayor, 67, “did not feel safe in close proximity to people who were unmasked. Chief Justice John Roberts, understanding that, in some form asked the other justices to mask up.” The NPR report adds.

“They all did. Except Gorsuch, who, as it happens, sits next to Sotomayor on the bench. His continued refusal since then has also meant that Sotomayor has not attended the justices’ weekly conference in person, joining instead by telephone,” NPR continues.

On Friday, the Supreme Court heard arguments about the legal constitutionality of Joe Biden’s tyrannical COVID-19 vaccine mandates for private companies with more than 100 employees.

The Biden Administration was sued by multiple parties for asking OSHA to enforce this mandate on private companies.

In this hearing, Justice Sotomayor made multiple false claims and statements about the vaccine’s ability to stop the transmission of the virus. She further claimed that “We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition, and many on ventilators.”
