“We’ll Vote On Impeachment” Top Republicans Announce Their Plan For After They Take Back Power, “Clearly Warranting Investigation…”

The 2024 mid-term elections are just over 110 days away. Polls are showing a potential red wave sweeping through the country. If that happens as expected, the Republicans gain control of the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Many on the Republican side have said President Biden could face impeachment if and when the conservatives regain control of the legislature. In January, Republican Senator Ted Cruz said there would be “multiple grounds” for impeaching Biden.

“They used it for partisan purposes to go after Trump because they disagreed with him,” Cruz said, referring to Democrats. Senator Cruz went on to say, “what is good for the goose is good for the gander.”

Representative Ken Buck told a virtual meeting that the House Judiciary Committee would “hold the hearings to determine whether impeachment is appropriate. We’ll vote on impeachment. And then it will be presented to the full House.”

The Democrats tried to impeach President Trump twice and failed each time. The January 6th hearings, which are now underway, are an attempt to keep Trump off the 2024 ballot. The American people are growing tired of partisan politics and Congressional members involved are paying a political price.

Wyoming Republican Representative, Liz Cheney is about to experience the price. She chose to be part of the January 6th hearings on behalf of the Republican Party. She is now trailing her Trump-backed primary challenger by more than twenty points.

There is ample evidence lending support to the idea Biden should be impeached. Hunter Biden’s alleged activities call into question whether or not his father lied. On numerous occasions, Joe Biden was asked what he knew about Hunter’s business dealings, and each time he said he knew nothing.

We now know that isn’t true. The hard drive on Hunter’s laptop is producing a treasure trove of mounting evidence to suggest President Biden knew quite a bit more than he led people to believe. The information, which was hidden by big tech during the election, will be used to impeach Biden now.

Impeachment requires a simple majority vote in the House of Representatives. Then the Senate requires a two-thirds majority to remove a sitting President. It has never happened in the history of the United States.

Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump were impeached by the House but the required votes fell short in the Senate. President Richard Nixon would most likely have been impeached in both the House and the Senate but he resigned from the position saving Congress from impeaching him.

Republicans should be careful when considering impeachment. If polling is accurate and elections are unimpeded, they will regain control of Congress. However, they will not carry enough seats in the Senate to have a two-thirds vote in the Senate. Any impeachment proceedings will most likely die in the Senate.

Going through the process of impeachment will only divide the country even more than it is. Despite many, many people demanding Biden be impeached and held accountable for various actions, it may hurt the Republicans politically for 2024 and beyond.
