The renowned actor, Jon Voight, is raising his voice against Newsmax’s censorship by AT&T’s DirecTV. He called for support from his fellow Americans to “speak up now” and to “take our freedom of speech back.”

This Wednesday night, Voight posted a video on Twitter, where he can be seen appreciating Newsmax for bringing forward “truths and good news,” on which the viewers can depend; however, “the left is taking it down.”

Voight stated in his video:

“My friends, we all love truths and good news, and that’s what Newsmax brought to us; we were able to rely on truths. Now, the left are taking it down, so [that] we the people of America should not be able to feel safe and see truths.”

Voight asked his fellow Americans to “take our freedom of speech back, our greatest asset in the land of the free, the freedom of one’s right to be and to see the lies put upon this country.”

Voight’s remarks came following the last week’s AT&T DirecTV removal of Newsmax from its platform, depriving 13 million subscribers of accessing the channel.

This is the second time in the past year that AT&T DirecTV has de-platformed a conservative channel.

DirecTV kept on providing 22 liberal news channels, and all of them are receiving license fees; however, Newsmax now has no authority to receive such payments.

Neilsen claims that Newsmax is one of the top highest-rated channels in the U.S. It is ranked in the top 20s overall and is viewed by more than 25 million Americans.

The CEO of Newsmax, Christopher Ruddy, stated:

“This is a blatant act of political discrimination and censorship against Newsmax. The most extreme liberal channels, even with tiny ratings, get fees from AT&T’s DirecTV, but Newsmax and OAN need to be de-platformed.”
