On Friday, Joe Biden signed away yet another swath of President Trump-proposed actions of legislation, including a proposal to build a garden filled with statues of American Heroes.
During his term, President Trump proposed a ‘National Garden of American Heroes’ which would be filled with statues of influential people to the American dream. A proposed list included more than 244 names of possible statue contenders, including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Harriett Tubman, and Johnny Appleseed. The former President’s idea came during his 2020 Presidential Campaign in the wake of the BLM/Antifa riots and as a contrast to the destruction of many confederate statues nationwide. This isn’t the first time Biden has reversed Trump-era policies, as he has done largely that since taking office nearly 5 months ago.
In February, Biden revoked a round of Trump executive actions, such as a ban on certain modern architectural styles—like brutalism—being used for federal buildings.” According to Forbes, Joe Biden also signed away a previous act that penalized people for defacing federal monuments. They write, “Among the other Trump executive orders Biden did away with Friday was one creating stricter penalties for defacing federal monuments and another targeting legal protections for social media companies after they started fact-checking Trump’s statements.”
