NYC Mayor Adams Blasts Biden Over Migrant Crisis; President Refuses to Meet With Him

Even though he expressed his disappointment in Biden’s handling of the migrant crisis, Adams said he still plans to vote for the president in 2024. Paul Martinka

President Joe Biden refuses to meet New York City Mayor Eric Adams to solve the worsening migrant crisis in New York City.

“It baffles me,” says Adams as he told journalists that the Biden administration turns a deaf ear as they plea for support from the federal government.

The NYC mayor said that they have exhausted all their resources as they shelter more than 65,000 illegal migrants in the city.

“You know, I met with the President several times on this issue in 2021, I think early 2022, you know.”

“It baffles me. New York City is the economic engine of the state and the country. And I don’t have the answer.

He added that the federal government has failed to extend assistance in whatever form amidst the crisis.

“The federal government said to New York City ‘We’re not going to do our job, you do our job. You take care of 4,000 people a week, Eric, you, and your team.'”

“And what’s fascinating is that those who should have been helping us in government every step of the way just critiqued us. Instead of saying, listen, man, this city is in a crisis, we’ve got to all come together around this, they just spent every ounce of energy.”

Adams along with a coalition of mayors from other cities affected by the influx of migrants, demand a $5 billion financial aid from Biden’s government. The coalition also pressed the administration to speed up work permits and assist with the resettlement.

Over 150,000 migrants have entered NYC’s shelter system over the last year. The mayor had earlier warned that these “asylum-seekers” will “destroy” the city.

These numbers worsen as Texas continues to send thousands of migrants on buses and flights to “sanctuary” cities across the country, which include Washington D.C . and New York City.

On Wednesday, Adams declared that the city will impose restrictions similar to Chicago and released an executive order demanding buses from Texas to arrive only between 8:30 am and noon on weekdays at a single drop-off site. The mayor threatened that drivers would face lawsuits and fines if they violated the ruling.

The city mayor noted that many New Yorkers are angry as loads of migrants continue to enter the city. However, he blames the Biden administration for the border woes and migrant crisis.

In an interview with N.J. Burkett, Addams expressed that the migrant crisis is not his fault, but it’s his problem.

Budgets for police, education, and sanitation in New York City have been reduced to accommodate Biden’s illegal migrants.
