NOT SURPRISED: DOJ retracts claim that capitol rioter used ‘fully constructed’ Capitol Lego set to plan Jan. 6th actions

The Department of Justice has retracted its claim that it had seized a “fully constructed” U.S. Capitol Lego set from an accused Capitol rioter.

The Department of Justice went on to say the Lego set was still contained within the box. Robert Morss, a substitute social studies teacher, allegedly engaged in violent behavior during the Capitol riot. The court documents filed July 2 pushed for Morss to be detained until trial (Breitbart). The documents state some of the items recovered which included the U.S. Capitol Lego set, but stated at the time it was fully constructed.

After this memorandum was made, review from photographs of the search stated there was a miscommunication and the statement was inaccurate. A supplemental motion stated the Legos were in the box and not constructed during the time of the search. There were no other changes submitted for the other items found in the suspect’s possession.

The Capitol set is considered a sought-after and expensive Lego set currently priced over $260 on Amazon.com. According to Post Millennial dozens of people arrested in connection to the Capitol riot remain in prison months later without any charges filed against them.
