GOP Senator from New York, Ted Budd, will soon be introducing legislation to continue the construction of the southern border wall by removing the hurdles that are blocking the construction at present and recovering $2.1 billion for the construction funding

The bill, “Build the Wall Now” is the first initiative proposed by Budd since he took hold of the senator’s position. Budd vows to eliminate “legal impediments” blocking border wall construction.

The legislation will be responsible for restarting the construction of the southern border wall within 24 hours if the bill gets passed.

It also demands the Homeland Security secretary’s support for all settled contracts instead of objecting or refusing any agreement linked to the construction.

Budd reported to Fox News Digital:

“President Biden has created the worst border crisis in American history. Instead of taking steps to solve this crisis, the Biden administration has tried to run out the regulatory clock on border wall construction.”

He added:

“My Build the Wall Now Act ends this administration’s excuses and forces them to restart wall construction immediately. It’s time for a comprehensive solution to end the Biden Border Crisis, and this bill does just that.”

Budd’s management claimed that the initiative also makes the previous border wall funds available by not letting them expire until utilized.

As per the Trump administration’s previous plans, this bill will limit the funds to be utilized only on wall barrier designs.

The legislation backed by the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) will improve the law requirements for the construction and also guarantees that the technology and planned framework are kept in mind to make the border secure.

It also demands that DHS should stay in contact with the NBPC to initiate agent safety measures.

Renowned GOP Senators like Ted Cruz from Texas, Thom Tillis from North Carolina, Steve Daines from Montana, Mike Crapo, and James Risch from Idaho, are backing Budd’s initiative.
