Madonna’s Near-Death Experience, Reveals “God Is in Control”

Madonna, during her Celebration World Tour at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, shared with her fans a near-death experience she had last year.

The queen of pop recalled an encounter she had with God after she was in an induced coma due to a serious bacterial infection.

She remarked during her concert, “This show every night is not really so hard on me physically. It’s hard on me emotionally because I’m really telling you the story of my life. My heart is on my sleeve.”

“I’ve fallen off a lot of horses and broken a lot of bones … but nothing can stop me.”

However, God seems to tell the queen of pop otherwise.

Madonna revealed that her first word upon waking up from a coma was “No.”

She recalled, “I’m pretty sure that was God saying to me, ‘Do you want to come? Want to come up with me? No.”

Then, while in the hospital, her longtime manager, Guy Oseary, asked her, “Well, when do you think you want to go back on tour?”

Madonna, without a hint of doubt, said: “In two months!”

Recalling the incident, the singer tells how she confidently declared and put it out in the universe, and “it happens.”

As she went out of the hospital, the music icon told her audience how she would bother her doctors to ask why she doesn’t have any energy yet.

“I would call in every other day and ask [my doctor] why I didn’t have any energy, when was my energy going to come back? When was I going to feel like myself again? When can I go on tour again?” she said. “All he would say is, ‘Go outside in the sun’ … It was so hard for me to walk from my house to the backyard and sit in the sun. I know that sounds insane, but it was difficult.”

For the first time in her life, the incident made Madonna realize one thing, and that is that she was not in control and she must “let go,” and let God take over her life.

The incident forced her to slow down.

“It’s a strange thing to finally not feel like I was in control, and that was my lesson: to let go,” she said.

Before her hospitalization, Madonna had already felt early signs of illness, she would feel exhausted during every performance and rehearsals but the singer continued.

A source told People that the singer had “ignored some symptoms of illness for quite a while because she thought they would go away. But she didn’t want to take time away from rehearsals. She was run down and not feeling 100% for a while in anticipation of her tour.”
