Newly-elected Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump is preparing to up the fight for the 2024 presidential race.
“We’re not just gonna have to fight fire with fire. We’re gonna have to fight fire with dynamite,” exclaims Trump, as she gears to have the “biggest legal ballot harvesting” the country has ever seen.
In an interview with the Washington Examiner, Trump said, “We’ve been playing checkers, and the Democrats have been playing chess.”
The RNC co-chair encouraged fellow Republicans to maximize all forms of voting to ensure victory by November.
She said, “Unfortunately, we don’t have one day of voting, we don’t have paper ballots, we don’t have voter ID everywhere. So we have to play the hand that we’re dealt.”
“That way, we have votes banked as we head into Election Day, and we’re not playing catch up on Nov. 5 with the Democrats.”
Trump emphasized that the committee will do something it has never done before.
“We need to be doing legal ballot harvesting — something that has never been done by the RNC, but I can promise you will be a huge part of what we’re planning to do.”
She also pressed the need for trained poll watchers and lawyers around the country. “The are people who will be trained and able to physically count how many ballots are coming in. And how many ballots are going out.”
“They don’t just stand in the background and kind of keep an eye out and look around for things,“ the RNC co-chair explained.
“They physically can count how many ballots are coming in, and how many ballots are going out.”
These measures are needed “to reassure people in a time like we’re in right now, where they really feel like there wasn’t something quite right about the 2020 election, and people still have a lot of unanswered questions,” she said.
Ultimately, the goal is to “have people’s trust restored in our electoral process.”
Trump’s vision brings a fresh perspective from the Ronna McDaniel era, which sorely ignored these types of ballot operations and lacked a strategy to win elections.
For Lara, her goal is “to be the opposite, to be steps ahead of them [Democrats], and on our toes, and ahead of the game, and facing forward the whole time.”
As per Epoch Times, ballot harvesting, which is legal in many states, allows people to deliver other voters’ absentee or mail-in ballots to election officials. Some fear this practice facilitates election fraud. Republicans have criticized this; Democrats have taken advantage of it.
