Judge Merchan Turned Down Trump’s Appeal to Attend Son’s Graduation

President Donald Trump blasted Judge Juan Merchan and his ongoing hush money trial, saying he may miss his son Barron’s high school graduation.

Speaking with reporters after the first day of the trial, Trump shared, ‘It looks like the judge will not let me go to the graduation of my son, who’s worked very, very hard.’

‘He’s a great student and he’s very proud of the fact he did so well and was looking forward for years to having his graduation with his mother and father there, and it looks like the judge isn’t going to allow me to escape this scam, it’ a scam trial.’

Trump’s legal team appealed to Judge Merchan to pause the trial scheduled on May 17 to allow the former president to attend Barron’s graduation at Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida.

“If everything is going according to schedule, then I’m sure we’ll be able to adjourn…but if we’re running behind schedule, we will not be able to. It really depends on if we are on time and where we are in the trial,” Merchan responded.

The hush-money trial could last up to eight weeks and would go on every weekday except on Wednesdays.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg accuses Trump of 34 counts of falsifying business records with the payments he allegedly made to adult film star Stormy Daniely in exchange for her keeping quiet on their alleged affair through his former fixer, Michael Cohen.

Aside from Barron’s graduation, Trump’s lawyers also appealed to excuse the Republican presumptive nominee from Thursday’s hearing so he could attend SCOTUS arguments on his immunity claims.

“Arguing before the Supreme Court is a big deal, and I can certainly appreciate why your client would want to be there, but a trial in New York Supreme Court… is also a big deal,” Judge Merchan brushed off Trump’s lawyer Todd Blanche’s request.

“I will see him here next week,” Merchan added.

The left’s political persecution continues, as Trump blasted, “We’re not going to be given a fair trial. He’s a very conflicted judge. He won’t allow me to leave here for a half a day to go to DC and go before the United States Supreme Court, because he thinks he’s superior, I guess, than the Supreme Court.”

“I just want to thank you very much,” he remarked sarcastically.

“But that I can’t go to my son’s graduation, but then I can’t go to the United States Supreme Court, and I’m not in Georgia, Florida, or North Carolina, campaigning. Like I should be. It’s perfect for the radical left Democrats. That’s exactly what they want.”

“We’ve got a real problem with this judge and a real problem with a lot of things having to do with this trial.”
