The hashtag should be a joke. The fact that a leader of the free world took notes from movies like “V for Vendetta” and thought copying the backdrop of High Chancellor Adam Sutler was a good idea. Or that his speech should be similar to General Hux’s. It was as if Biden’s team saw the Dark Brandon meme and figured that they should run with it.
Sadly it is all real, and it is happening. It is time to pick a side, stand your ground, and fight like Hell. Even MSNBC’s Tiffany Cross stated:
“It feels like the Civil War is here.”
It is something that Cross has repeated after the Mar-a-Lago raid, that it is the MAGA Republicans’ fault. People on MSNBC have continued to add fuel to the fire by comparing 2022 to the years of 1860 or 1940 with guest speakers on her show.
Michael Beschloss claimed that presidential speeches from Lincoln and Roosevelt inspired Biden’s speech.
Fox News reported:
Beschloss then claimed that he and fellow historians explained to Biden in the meeting, “This is like 1860. This is like 1940. You have to talk about the large issue in the room, and just as Lincoln gave the House Divided speech, just as Roosevelt gave a speech on the state of the union about the Four Freedoms, as you well know, 1941, here is the time when President Biden has chosen.”
It should send chills down your spine, knowing that people on MSNBC want a war.
To the left, Biden’s speech was necessary. Eugene Robinson, a Washington Post columnist and MSNBC analyst, called it an “urgent wartime address.” In reality, Biden’s “Soul searching” speech was disgraceful.
People should be furious that he dared to paint Independence Hall in blood red. The image of Biden with a red backdrop was so bad that CNN changed it to look pink.
“I stand here tonight, equality and democracy are under assault. We do ourselves no favor to pretend otherwise. So tonight, I have come this place where it all began to speak as plainly as I can to the nation about the threats we face, about the power we have in our own hands to meet these threats, and about the incredible future that lies in front of us if only we choose it.”
Movie villains have said similar things. Chancellor Adam Sutler from “V for Vendetta” said:
“I want this country to realize that we stand on the edge of oblivion. I want every man, woman and child to understand how close we are to chaos.”
Biden mentions Trump by name at least three times and says MAGA around 13 times because they are the enemy.
“Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.

But there is no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to this country.”
We must revisit “V for Vendetta” again. Did you know that movie was set in the year 2020? That a manufactured virus runs wild, killing many, and there was only one source for a cure? That the dictator promises security in exchange for freedom? It makes you wonder: Does life imitate art, or is art imitating life?
“My fellow Englishmen: tonight our country, that which we stand for, and all we hold dear, faces a grave and terrible threat. This violent and unparalleled assault on our security will not go undefended… or unpunished. Our enemy is an insidious one, seeking to divide us and destroy the very foundation of our great nation. Tonight, we must remain steadfast. We must remain determined. But most of all, we must remain united. Those caught tonight in violation of curfew will be considered in league with our enemy and prosecuted as a terrorist without leniency or exception. Tonight, I give you my most solemn vow: that justice will be swift, it will be righteous, and it will be without mercy.”
Chancellor Adam Sutler said in a movie that is meant to be fiction, while Biden said:
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election. And they’re working right now, as I speak, in state after state to give power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies, empowering election deniers to undermine democracy itself.

They fan the flames of political violence.

But while the threat to American democracy is real, I want to say as clearly as we can: We are not powerless in the face of these threats. We are not bystanders in this ongoing attack on democracy.”
Biden states that Americans must choose which side they are on. A “are you with me or against me” mantra. And yes, you should take it as a threat. His speech can be compared to General Hux’s from Star Wars; you know, the guy based on Hitler.
“At this very moment in a system far from here, the New Republic lies to the galaxy while secretly supporting the treachery of the rogues of the Resistance.”
Speaking of Hitler, did anyone notice what Jill Biden was wearing? Her jacket is a “Trachten jacket.” In English, a traditional German/Austrian jacket, but for women. Something that probably wasn’t intentional, but when you have Independence Hall in blood red and declaring people who didn’t vote for you as terrorists, it is hard not to draw comparisons.
Biden states clearly that MAGA Republicans made a choice and that they thrive on chaos. The people he claims to represent should “not let anyone or anything tear us apart.”
For once, an analyst for MSNBC is right. Biden’s “Soul searching” speech was a declaration of war on his own people. We the people, need to make a choice, and that includes everyone. Where do you stand? With Liberty or with Tyranny?
