‘I Don’t Care If I Get Canceled’: Director of The Film ‘My Son Hunter’ Pushes Back Against Radical Left Maniacs

Goonies never say die. It’s the slogan from the classic 1980s kid adventure movie. The kids of the Goondocks, the nickname for a small coastal town in Oregon, search for long-lost pirate treasure to save their town from the big bad land developer. 

It is the quintessential ’80s flick where the kids stand up for what is right and fight for their friends. Along the way, they fight the Fratellis an evil family looking to steal the treasure from the Goonies. Jake and Francis Fratelli are the bumbling brothers who lost to Mikey and the crew in the end. 

For the Democrats and Joe Biden, Robert Davi won’t let Hunter Biden and his laptop say die. Davi, who portrayed Jake Fratelli in the Goonies, has become one of Hollywood’s staunch conservatives. He has taken on the Biden family with his new movie My Son Hunter. 

The movie, which is all about the antics of Hunter Biden, has angered Hollywood and the progressive left. It is nothing new for Davi though. He has been writing for Breitbart since 2009 and is regular on Fox News shows causing him to be blackballed in liberal-controlled Hollywood. 

It has not deterred Davi. He knew the movie would be controversial and the left would double down and try harder to cancel him. He appeared on the Just the News, Not Noise television show recently. He talked about the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 election. 

He recalled “the frustration I had watching this unfold and the American people not getting a chance at seeing what was happening,” Davi said, “My feeling was it has to be told — I don’t care if I get canceled.” Despite the frustration, he wanted to tell the story from an emotional perspective, not a political one. 

“The important thing for me was telling the story in a humanistic way,” Davi explained. “I wanted the audience to be able to be engaged in the emotional life of Hunter Biden — that addiction is a sickness,” he told the show. 

While he tries not to demonize Hunter’s drug abuse, he does not shy away from pointing out the position Hunter Biden and his father have put the United States in. His questionable business dealings in Ukraine and China have compromised the Presidency and questioned the legitimacy of our elections. 

As much as the film is an indictment of the Bidens, it also paints Big Tech and mainstream media in an unfavorable light. It’s why many entertainment prognosticators have condemned the film and its portrayal of the First Family. 

Davi described the film as a rebuke of news media and Big Tech censorship and suppression, particularly restricting the circulation of revelatory reports of the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

The film is Breitbart’s first foray into the film industry. There is an audience in the nation clamoring for truth-based films that don’t trash conservatives and their family-based values. The Daily Wire has already successfully entered the industry with several conservative films. 

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz believes there should be more of these films. “I kept thinking while watching — why don’t we do this more on the right? Actually engage in the political battle by making appealing, gripping art! The left does it so well and Breitbart nails it with this project!” he tweeted.

Hollywood has long been a bastion of left-leaning progressivism. They have maintained an iron grip on the entertainment industry which includes films, the television industry, and the music world. Only recently have conservatives begun to fight back. 

It has been more than half a century since Senator Joseph McCarthy went after Hollywood and its connections to Communism. It backfired on the Wisconsin congressman and stained his career until he died in 1957. Sixty-five years later, it appears he was right.
