According to reports, Colin Kaepernick was recently offered a contract by a football team, but he demanded $20 million to play.

This is a significant increase from the $60-80 million settlement he reportedly received from the NFL after suing them for collusion.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback was recently offered a contract to play in the Alliance of American Football (AAF), but he reportedly turned it down because he wants $20 million to play.

The AAF is a new professional football league that is set to begin play next month. All players in the league will receive the same contract: a $250,000 non-guaranteed deal that pays out over the next three years.

Kaepernick, who has been out of the NFL since 2016, feels that he is worth more than that. He believes that he should be paid more because of the controversy surrounding him.

After opting out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016, Kaepernick became a free agent. Since then, he has not been signed by another club, and many believe it is because to his protests against racial inequality and brutality.

According to Bill Polian, one of the co-founders of the AAF, someone from the league reached out to Kaepernick.

“I don’t know what transpired, but he’s obviously not playing,” Polian told reporters.

The league’s other founder commented on the issue: “We have always been open to anyone who wanted an opportunity to begin, extend or revitalize their career to come play under our system.”

After being unable to find a long-term agreement with the 49ers, Kaepernick decided to opt out of his current contract. In the previous year, he started eleven games for the club and San Francisco won only one of those games.

It’s not clear what team made the offer to Kaepernick or how much they offered him. However, it seems that Kaepernick was looking for a fairly substantial amount of money.

According to Polian, Kaepernick was looking for $20 million to play in the AAF. That is a significantly higher salary than any other player in the league.

It’s unclear if the offer is still on the table or if Kaepernick has decided to pass on playing in the AAF. However, it seems that he is still interested in playing football at some level.

Despite the fact that he has not played in the NFL since 2016, some specialists are still urging Kaepernick to get a job as a quarterback. The Dallas Cowboys, for example, have a major challenge at quarterback moving forward after Dak Prescott fractured his right thumb in Sunday night’s defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Although the Cowboys will probably go with Cooper Rush as their starting quarterback and Will Grier as his backup, ESPN celebrity Stephen A. Smith said there’s a chance they could take a risk on Colin Kaepernick. Even though he doesn’t think it would ever happen, Smith brought up the topic anyway.

“We have always been open to anyone who wanted an opportunity to begin, extend or revitalize their career to come play under our system. We believe in giving people a fair chance and an opportunity to prove themselves and their worth.

“However, signing Colin Kaepernick would go against everything that the Dallas Cowboys stand for. We are a team that is built on hard work, dedication, and determination – not on controversies and divisiveness.

“We hope that Dak Prescott makes a full and speedy recovery so that he can get back to leading our team on the field. In the meantime, we will continue to support Cooper Rush and Will Grier as they step up to fill the void at quarterback.”

It remains unclear if Kaepernick will ever play a game of football again.
