Columbia University’s Shai Davidai Wants Mayor Eric Adams to Take Action On Disturbances Brought By Pro-Hamas Protests In The Campus

Columbia University Business Professor Shai Davidai loses his cool as pro-Hamas demonstrations on the campus have intensified since last week.

Prof. Davidai challenged New York City Mayor Eric Adams to “do something.”

“Last night, what you saw at Columbia University is open support for Hamas,” Davidai, who is Jewish, said in a video posted to X Sunday night.

“Holding signs saying ‘al-Qassam brigade your next target’ pointing at Jewish students.”

“So, here you have it: While U.S. citizens are being held hostage in Gaza by Hamas and by the Islamic jihad, you have students at Columbia University and faculty at Columbia University who are cheering on Hamas,” he said.

Despite drawing jeers from the audience, Davidai continued.

“Columbia’s administration not only won’t do anything about it, they are refusing to let the NYPD in.”

“They are letting the terrorists in and keeping the NYPD out.”

Davidai then sends his message to Mayor Adams: “We don’t need your empty remarks about not being OK.”

“Right now, right now, we are not OK! Do something!”

If Adams refused to act, Davidai called on New Yorkers to vote the mayor out or impeach him and “call on the governor, Kathy Hochul,” to address the violence.

“You have the National Guard.” Appealing to Hochul, he said, “You have terrorists in a university in New York—that’s your state. Bring in the National Guard. We are going to rid this country of terrorists and terrorist supporters!”

“We believe in love, we believe in free speech, but we believe that enough is enough!” he emphasized.

On Monday, the Jewish professor attempted to enter the campus but was informed that his ID had been “deactivated” because Columbia University’s administration could not guarantee his safety.

Days after calling the NYPD to clear up the encampment of the protesters, the university decided to ignore the new protest camp of the pro-Hamas demonstrators.

New York Councilwoman Inna Vernikov also blasted the growing unrest in the university, as she wrote on X: “Columbia University is now JUDENREIN! Hordes of indoctrinated students are camping on the main lawn, violating University policy, while Jewish students feel afraid to enter campus grounds and stay home. Professors who glorify and support Hamas are still teaching and freely roaming around campus, but @ShaiDavidai, the most vocal Jewish professor and pro-Israel voice at Columbia, had his access to campus revoked. This is a sick joke with no end in sight. We cannot allow it to get to 1939. Jewish students are legally entitled to an education free of harassment, intimidation, and death threats. We are not going anywhere! COLUMBIA shame on you!”
