After students were warned not to yell “USA” at sporting events and rallies, a California high school sparked outrage.

During sports and rallies, students at Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom, California, frequently screamed “USA.”

School administrators have now requested that the pupils refrain from chanting since it might be perceived as intolerant.

“I wasn’t furious,” senior Ryan Bernal told KOVR, “but I was certainly thinking, ‘Why can’t we chant USA?'” “To say the United States of America, you know, we’re all the same. We’re all from the United States of America.

It makes no difference what skin tone you have or where you’re from.” During a leadership session at the high school, staff brought the subject to the pupils’ notice.

Folsom Cordova Unified Communications Director Daniel Thigpen stated, “Empathy, generosity, and patriotism are all things that may be practiced. You have the option to do both.”

The “USA” chant has been utilized in various schools around the country in a disrespectful manner toward persons of other races, according to KOVR.

The California Interscholastic Federation’s Mike Garrison remarked, “There’s a time and a place to shout that and celebrate that.”

Vista Del Lago High School’s administrator wrote an email to district families warning them of the chant, which was also broadcast over the school’s public address system. “We can send an unexpected message” by employing the chant, according to the principal.

The principal went on to say that the USA chant is fine, but only when it comes after the Pledge of Allegiance or after the national anthem.

“I want to chant USA because I want us to band together and help, not because I want anybody to feel excluded or unwelcome,” said Natalie Woodbury, a mother. Officials from the district stated that yelling “USA” is not prohibited.

On Facebook, readers offered their reactions to the tale. “It’s principals like this one that are slowly but steadily ruining our public schools, and that is SAD!” said one reader.

“Be grateful the students were at their school’s athletic activities and expressed their love for our nation, the Grand Old USA; shame on that school’s leadership.”

“Intolerable and offensive?” said another person. “Are you serious! You kids yell USA as loudly as you can! Thank the Lord for you kids! Stand firm in your God-given right to the 1st Amendment! We’re all so proud of you all! God Bless you all!”
