This week, former President Donald Trump will head back to New York City to answer questions concerning the fraud lawsuit brought up by Attorney General Letitia James against Trump and his organization.

Trump is expected to return to New York City Thursday, where he will be questioned at James’ office in Manhattan.

James’ investigation is unrelated to the 34 charges of felony fraud that District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed against Donald Trump last week.

Trump will visit New York City for the first time since he surrendered to authorities in the Bragg lawsuit.

Thursday will likely be the second time James will question the former president.

In the weeks before her case was filed in late 2022, he also made an appearance in her office for testimony and in that situation, he repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment rights and refused to answer any queries.

Democrat AG James has been probing into Trump since her January 2019 inauguration. She filed a lawsuit against Trump in September, claiming that Trump, along with his company, misrepresented the value of his assets to banks and others.

James asserted that Trump, his children Eric, Donald Jr., and Ivanka as well as his businesses and associates, engaged in “numerous acts of fraud and misrepresentation” concerning the financial statements.

James claimed Trump “inflated his net worth by billions of dollars” and stated his children supported him.

Trump attempted to file a countersuit against James, claiming that she had misused her position and caused harm to his business and family. In January, he voluntarily retracted the lawsuit.
