Breaking: Arizona Governor Signs Bill Requiring Proof Of Citizenship To Vote, “Election Integrity Means…”

“Arizonans will not have to re-register to vote. It will be business as usual for 99.9% of Arizona voters. This only effects a very small percentage of total voters, and even then, we actually grandfathered in all of those individuals who are already registered to vote that have some form of proof of citizenship on file.”

State Rep. Hoffman said about Arizona’s latest attempt to secure the elections. It will most likely reach the Supreme Court and be thrown out of the courtroom.

The Fourteenth Amendment Section 1 says:

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

Voting rights activists could say that requiring ID or proof of citizenship infringes a citizen’s right to vote. However, the states have it in their jurisdiction to create laws that provide equal protection when it comes to voting. Not making elections secure infringes upon equal protection for legal citizens of the United States.

Jon Sherman, the litigation director for the Fair Elections Center, said, “The provisions in this bill are not really found anywhere in the country.” Notice how he didn’t say constitution? Notice how the left never brings the constitution? Remember, the Democrats consider the constitution as an old piece of paper. Biden once said the constitution was “never absolute.”

Voting advocates are saying the new provision will affect thousands of people. The left thinks most citizens are incapable of doing anything right on their own.

“Voting rights advocates say it will make registration drives much more complicated, especially among people who don’t have an Arizona driver’s license or state ID with an up-to-date address, such as college students, Native Americans and seniors who no longer drive.”

Why haven’t people updated their address, driver’s license, and so on?

Bill Lamoreaux, a spokesman for the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division, stated that about 192,000 people have a state license or ID issued before 1996. It sounds like the government is the one that is incapable of doing anything right.

When getting a new license, you need to prove your address at the DMV. Seniors must prove who they are with ID when getting new prescriptions from the pharmacy. Native Americans who are said to have high alcohol abuse need ID to get alcohol. As for college students, they aren’t supposed to be voting where they go to school. They either head home or fill out an absentee ballot.

Whether you are for or against it, we all want fair elections. In this country, you must be a citizen. You must be of legal age, living within your state, and not dead. But how does one prove they are a citizen? Not everyone has their birth certificate. Not everyone who has a driver’s license is a citizen. Having an address in the state, you wish to vote in doesn’t mean you live there. It could be a billing address, and the person lives in a different state. This is where voting rights activists have a point. Arizona is on the right path but needs a better solution so that no citizen’s right to vote is infringed.
