On the New Year’s weekend, Twitter permanently suspended the personal account of Georgia Republican Congresswoman, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

“Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth,” Greene said while responding to the ban in a statement. “That’s fine, I’ll show America we don’t need them and it’s time to defeat our enemies.”

Rep. Greene had one of the largest following on her Twitter amongst any Republican members of Congress. Her account had over 465,000 followers prior to this ban.

Twitter has not yet shared any specific reason or pointed to any specific tweet that violated its “terms of service” and just mentioned that the congresswoman’s account was banned because it triggered “repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy.”

Twitter had previously suspended Rep. Greene’s personal account on several occasions in the past and has claimed that the bans were “just mistakes”

“Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth,” Greene added in the statement responding to the ban. “That’s fine, I’ll show America we don’t need them and it’s time to defeat our enemies.”

She has access to her official account on Twitter, @RepMTG that has over 393,000 followers as of right now.
