In a massive report released by Politico, the United States Supreme Court has voted to overturn the landmark case of Roe V. Wade a draft opinion shows.
The Supreme Court case Roe V Wade’ decision took place on January 22, 1973 and in a 7-2 ruling, the court stated “The Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides a fundamental “right to privacy” that protects a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose whether to have an abortion. This right is not absolute, and must be balanced against the government’s interests in protecting women’s health and protecting prenatal life. The Texas law making it a crime to procure an abortion violated this right.”
Since this ruling, the view on abortion has continues to be one of the most controversial political topics especially in recent years. This is largely in part of the radical left’s support for late term abortions which in some parts of the country go all the way until birth and beyond.
However, in what surly would be a earth shaking move by the Supreme Court, this case may be overruled. Reports show that Justice Alito states “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled”.
Justice Alito further stated “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start… We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled.”
Justice Alito added “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives”.
