HILARIOUS: Steven Spielberg’s Remake Of “West Side Story” FLOPS After Director And Cast Pander To Woke Audience

As President Trump once famously predicted, “Everything that goes woke, gets broke” seems like the infamous Hollywood industry should follow President Trump’s advice.

Steven Spielberg’s latest remake of the historic “West Side Story” is experiencing getting broke after pandering to the woke mob.

The 2021 retelling of the historic musical masterpiece has tanked and its recent earnings show just over $14 million in the opening weekend. According to The Numbers the movie had a targeted goal of $250 million which seems to be very far-fetched looking at the opening numbers.

Spielberg’s pandering to the woke mob has a lot to do with this. He refused to use subtitles in the Spanish-speaking scenes in the movie because “it would be giving English power over Spanish” and not hiring anyone who is not from a “Latinx” country.

“That was a mandate that I put down to Cindy Tolan who cast the movie, that I wasn’t going to entertain any auditions that aren’t parents or grandparents or themselves from Latinx countries,” Spielberg said in an IGN interview. “Especially Puerto Rico, we looked a lot in Puerto Rico, we have 20 performers in our film from Puerto Rico or they’re Nuyorican.” He said.

“That was very important and that goes hand-in-hand with my reasoning for not subtitling the Spanish. If I subtitled the Spanish I’d simply be doubling down on the English and giving English the power over the Spanish. This was not going to happen in this film, I needed to respect the language enough not to subtitle it.” He added.

According to a new NBC poll, a whopping 40% of Hispanics claim that the woke term LatinX “bothers or offends them” Read more about this poll here

The woke pandering wasn’t just limited to Spielberg. The film’s screenwriter, Tony Kushner described the film as an “anti-racist, democratic musical.”

“The creators believed very deeply that race hatred and bigotry and oppression and discrimination are profoundly malevolent aberrations and can lead to cataclysmic consequences,” he said. “And I think that is the tragedy of West Side Story. It is an anti-racist, democratic musical.” He added.

If that wasn’t enough already, Rachel Zegler, one of the lead stars, is been promoting defund the police movement for a very long time and has also made derogatory comments against Kyle Rittenhouse and called him a “white supremacist”
