The Democrats can no longer hide the truth, and the facts are slowly coming out in the open.
According to reports, Cheney and the defunct January 6 Select Committee have suppressed evidence that former President Donald Trump requested 10,000 National Guard to protect the Capitol.
Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Georgia) released a transcript on Friday, and was published by the Federalist, revealing that in a transcribed interview with former Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato, President Donald Trump repeatedly asked Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser if she “had everything she needed [for security].”
Rep. Loudermilk, chairman of the Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight, slammed the January 6 select committee and further revealed that on January 28, 2022, Ornato was asked if he recalled “any discussion prior to the 6th about whether and how many National Guard troops to deploy on January 6th.”
To which Ornato replied and detailed overhearing a conversation between White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Washington D.C. Mayor Bowser.
“I remember he had — he was on the phone with her, and we — I had walked in for something, and I was there, and he was on the phone with her and wanted to make sure she had everything that she needed. Because I think it was the concern of anti and pro groups clashing is what I recall. And not anywhere near the Capitol, this was just out on the mall area or at the event; and wanted to know if she need[ed] any more guardsmen,” Ornato said.
“And I remember the number 10,000 coming up of, you know, the President wants to make sure that you have enough. You know, he is willing to ask for 10,000. I remember that number. Now that you said it, it reminded me of it. And that she was all set. She had, I think it was like 350 or so for intersection control and those types of things not in the law enforcement capacity at the time,” he added.
“And then that’s the only thing I recall with that number 10,000 National Guard guardsmen.”
The committee covered up these details, and worse, they misrepresented Ornato’s statement.
Cheney and fellow committee members reported: “Some have suggested that President Trump gave an order to have 10,000 troops ready for January 6th. The Select Committee found no evidence of this.”
Loudermilk blasted the former J6 committee for withholding Mr. Ornato’s critical witness testimony “because it contradicted their pre-determined narrative.”
Furthermore, Mr. Ornato’s testimony verified what the White House Chief of Staff testified all along: indeed, the President offered the deployment of 10,000 National Guard troops to guard the US Capitol, but the Washington DC Mayor turned it down.
Mr. Meadows had previously said on Fox News, that Trump ordered 10,000 National Guard troops to be on standby.
“As many as 10,000 National Guard troops were told to be on the ready by the secretary of defense. That was a direct order from President Trump.”
President Trump echoed these statements on Fox News later on saying, “[I] definitely gave the number of 10,000 National Guardsmen, and [said] I think you should have 10,000 of the National Guard ready.”
Even former acting secretary of defense, Christopher Miller, also gave similar statements, saying that the President told him: “You’re going to need 10,000 people.”
Kash Patel, former Mr. Miller’s chief of staff, testified that President Trump authorized the activation of 10,000 to 20,000 National Guard troops, but the court as Cheney did claimed that his testimony lacked “evidence.”
“The evidence is ME, my testimony under oath as a first-hand witness, plus the reports the judge excluded such as Bowser’s letter,” Patel blasted.
Miller’s former chief of staff added that President Trump definitely authorized the deployment of troops, but only the mayor and the Congress could order their deployment, and they had not called for it.
