“We have a jury,” announced Judge Juan Merchan after seating the 12th juror.
On the third day of President Donald Trump’s bogus New York trial, the court had picked 12 jurors and one alternate.
The jury includes:
- A man residing in West Harlem and works in the sales industry. He is married and likes to do stuff outdoors. As for news sources, he relies on The New York Times, Fox News, and MSNBC.
- A man involved in investment banking. He follows Trump on Twitter and Truth Social and said, “I don’t have any beliefs that might prevent me from being fair or impartial.”
- An attorney in corporate law who likes to hike and run. He gets news from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Google.
- A security engineer who is fond of woodworking and metalworking
- A young woman living in Harlem and works as a teacher. She lives with her boyfriend and loves theater, writing, and traveling. Her news sources were Google and TikTok. She also listens to relationship and pop culture podcasts.
- A young woman resides in Chelsea and works as a software engineer. She relies on the New York Times, Google, Facebook, and TikTok for her news.
- A man lives on the Upper East Side and works as a civil litigator. He likes to be outdoors and reads The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, and the Washington Post.
- A man who worked for a major wealth manager before his retirement, he loves skiing, fly fishing, and yoga.
- A woman works as a speech therapist and reads CNN as her news source. She likes reality TV podcasts.
- A man working in the commerce industry, he reads the New York Times and listens to podcasts on behavioral psychology.
- A woman working as a product development manager. She likes watching late-night news and reading Google, business, and fashion news.
- A woman who works as a physical therapist who likes to run, play tennis, and listen to podcasts on sports and faith
The court also picked one alternate juror:
- A woman who works as an asset manager. She likes to run, hang out with friends, and eat.
Five more alternates are needed. The jury selection will proceed on Friday, according to Judge Merchan.
Before this, the court initially seated two jurors but were struck out. One was concerned about her identity being exposed and with friends and relatives that could potentially influence her ability to be impartial. The other one was a man whom the prosecutors asked to be dismissed.
After the hearing concluded for the day, Trump presented the media outside the courtroom with a stack of newspaper editorials and articles, which he said aimed at the basis of charges against him.
“It really is a very unfair trial,” Trump quipped.
“All of these stories are stories of how, and these are done by the experts and editorials, Bragg falsified business records; he falsifies them; he’s the one; he’s the fraud,” Trump blasted Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
