It can not be ignored that these were not the mid terms that the Republicans had in mind. The oft-mentioned and commented upon “red wave” came out as little more than a trickle. However, that is certainly not to say that the GOP hasn’t enjoyed a number of sweet victories. Probably of primary salience are the Republicans taking over the House, and with it, ousting former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. It won’t be a surprise that former President Donald Trump has a few comments.

It was just reported by Yahoo News that:

In her final speech Thursday as House speaker, Nancy Pelosi couldn’t resist taking one final dig at former President Donald Trump.

“I have enjoyed working with three presidents,” Pelosi said of her historic tenure as the first woman in U.S. history ever to hold the powerful position, acknowledging the three as George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

She also served while Trump was president, but she did not include him in the list.

The mutual disdain between Pelosi and Trump has been on full display for years.

As speaker, Pelosi twice oversaw the impeachment of Trump in the House. In 2020, she tore up a copy of Trump’s State of the Union address in full view of television cameras. Meanwhile, videotaped testimony that was played before the House select committee investigating the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, showed Pelosi fuming as she watched the conclusion of Trump’s rally at the Capitol Ellipse.

“If he comes, I’m going to punch him out,” Pelosi said after learning of Trump’s desire to join his supporters at the Capitol. “I’ve been waiting for this, for trespassing on Capitol grounds. I’m going to punch him out, and I’m going to go to jail, and I’m going to be happy.”

On Tuesday, announcing his candidacy for president in 2024, Trump framed the midterm election results as a victory over Pelosi.

“Nancy Pelosi has been fired, isn’t that nice?” he said.

A week earlier, at a campaign rally in Ohio on Nov. 7, Trump referred to her as “an animal” for her role in orchestrating both of his impeachments in the House.

“I think she’s an animal, too, to tell you the truth,” Trump said at a rally near Dayton.

It was further reported by Fox News that:

Biden released a statement praising Pelosi soon after her speech. He also reportedly called Pelosi to congratulate her on Thursday morning.

“When I think of Nancy Pelosi, I think of dignity,” Biden wrote. “History will note she is the most consequential Speaker of the House of Representatives in our history.”

Fox News went on to report that:

“There are countless examples of how she embodies the obligation of elected officials to uphold their oath to God and country to ensure our democracy delivers and remains a beacon to the world. In everything she does, she reflects a dignity in her actions and a dignity she sees in the lives of the people of this nation,” he added.

Her departure leaves a massive hole in House leadership, as she, alongside the duo of Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., as Democratic leader and Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., as Democratic whip, have long led the party in the House of Representatives.

Pelosi’s political demise seems to have been a long time coming. In fact, The Raging Patriot reported back in October that in a recent interview with The New York Times, the California Democrat representative did her best to alienate half the country for their political beliefs.

She simply cannot fathom how “anybody” would vote for Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections.  “Part of it is, I cannot believe anybody would vote for these people,” Pelosi said. She went on to knock the Republicans’ campaign strategy as “endless lying and endless money.”

Pelosi also said she found it hard to believe that Republicans could actually win. After all, Republicans want to preserve life in the womb, end drag queen story hour for children in schools, stop the mutilation of children, stop the endless spending to get a hold on inflation, and uphold the First and Second Amendments.
