Ukrainian Refugees Are Being Used By New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez To Argue For Amnesty

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a progressive Democrat from New York, wants to utilize the war between Russia and Ukraine to provide all migrants, not just Ukrainian refugees, a road to citizenship.
She appeared on MSNBC this week and made her case to anchor Rachel Maddow, according to The Blaze.

The presenter asked the woman how the refugee situation in Ukraine may be utilized to prevent demonization of illegal immigrants in the United States, but she quickly moved the subject to amnesty.
“I believe that the way we are looking at awarding TPS to Ukrainian refugees, which is what we need to do, as well as many others, is something that we really need to keep in mind.” she said.
“Because I feel that, for example, the thousands of individuals who try to seek legal shelter on our southern border, and how Haitian refugees have been handled by the US, not just in previous administrations, but also in this one, is not right,” the representative stated.

“If we grant TPS to Ukrainian refugees, this is also an opportunity to finally create a path to citizenship for TPS recipients,” the representative said.
“So I think that while there is a risk, there’s also a profound opportunity for us to make the crooked path straight on this issue.” She then reposted a message from someone who shared her video and also advocated for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and blamed white racism for something.
“Precisely, @AOC. The way the United States handles Ukrainian refugees is how it should have, and should continue to treat, refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Haiti, our southern border, and everywhere. And let this be an opportunity to repair some of the flaws in US immigration,” the individual added. “She didn’t say ‘racism,’ ‘white supremacy,’ or ‘abolish ICE,’ but I will,” she explained.
Her remarks come around a month after Tucker Carlson, the top-rated Fox News personality, criticized a new book by the editors of New York Magazine praising Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, which he claimed begins by “comparing [her] to Jesus” and lavishing what he calls unwarranted adulation on the New York legislator.
Carlson stated that he wanted to start his Friday show with a more serious issue, such as the continued crackdown on Freedom Convoy demonstrators in Canada or a probable conflict in Ukraine, and that he had “little self-control of something like this.”
