UFOs, Aliens, and the U.S. Government

At this point, how much more can really surprise people?  Recently, the government has been requested to release information on UFOs.  The government recently released information on potential alien life back in the spring and what this request is the latest advancement regarding extraterrestrial life.  

Back in April, the government declassified videos of “unidentified aerial phenomena.”  The videos had been on the internet for years, but this was the first time that the government took ownership of them.  The government apparently decided to release the footage because they did not feel there was any real threat in doing so.   “Department of Defense officials decided to release the videos after determining that the footage ‘does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena’” (Weisberger).

Wildly enough, Tom Delonge, former Blink-182 member, has a connection to all of this.  He is a founder of the company To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science (Weisberger).  According to the company’s website, the company “collects documents and physical materials from public and private sources related to the UAP phenomena to study it and then transitions the transformative technologies behind it to wider applications of public benefit.”  

The TTSA was responsible for the initial release of the videos that the government declassified in April.  TTSA has a contract with the U.S. government.  The contract “outlines a research collaboration, and the U.S. Army will provide at least $750,000 in support and resources for developing and testing TTSA technologies” (Weisberger).

In December, part of the Covid-19 relief bill included a piece about the government revealing information on UFOs.  The government has six months to release a report on the unidentified aerial phenomena.  “The report needs to contain analysis of any UFO data as well as name any possible security threats they pose” (ABC).

According to The Guardian, “Thousands of documents from the CIA on unidentified flying objects were released this week in a document dump that the agency says includes all their records on UFOs.”  These documents and more are accessible on a site called The Black Vault (Aratani).  Some of the information contained in the files on the website are mind-blowing.

The sci-fi world might not be as fictional as originally thought…
