On Tuesday, the Republican Minority Leader of the Senate, Mitch McConnell shared his discontentment towards Fox News and Tucker Carlson over the release of never-before-seen videos from the events of January 6th.

McConnell’s views perfectly match up with Democratic lawmakers and Senator Chuck Schumer, who also showed his disappointment with a meltdown on the Senate floor.

While talking with the reporters, McConnell stated:

“With regard to the presentation on Fox News last night, I want to associate myself entirely with the opinion of the chief of the Capitol police about what happened on Jan. 6.”

The Democratic Senator added:

“My concern is how it was depicted. Clearly the chief of the Capitol Police, in my view, correctly described what most of us witnessed firsthand on Jan. 6.”

He concluded:

“It was a mistake, in my view, [for] Fox News to depict this in a way completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol.”

Several Twitter users showed their disappointment towards McConnell’s statement.

The billionaire CEO Elon Musk mocked McConnel as he wrote:

“I keep forgetting what party he belongs to.”

Donald Trump Jr. also criticized McConnell as he wrote:

“Don’t believe anything that you see in the video. Believe the politicized report from the person who reported directly to Nancy Pelosi and what the mainstream media have pretended is the truth for two years. With Republicans like Mitch who needs democrats?”

The New York Post reported that the January 6th Committee exploited silent surveillance videos by cherry-picking footage to manipulate the narrative and adding up audios of screams to make them look more dramatic.
