Recently, President Joe Biden shared a moment of “epiphany,” during an interview, that he experienced in his high school days because of which he started advocating for LGBTQ rights and gay marriages.

However, Biden’s previous track record reveals that this was a blatant lie as he was not supportive of LGBTQ rights and gay marriages in the past and his stance towards them has shifted over the years.

Biden began:

“I can remember exactly when my epiphany was.”

He added:

“I hadn’t thought much about it, to tell you the truth. I was a senior in high school, and my dad was dropping me off. I remember I was about to get out of the car, and I look to my right, two well-dressed men in suits kissed each other. They gave each other a kiss.”

Biden continued:

“And I’ll never forget it, I looked at my dad, and he said, ‘Joey, it’s simple. They love each other. It’s simple,’ — now I’m not joking …

He concluded:

“And it’s never been, it’s never been … It’s just that simple. It doesn’t matter whether it’s same-sex or a heterosexual couple. They should be married. What is the problem?”

There are several video footages that show Biden opposing gay marriages.

Joe Biden’s views on gay marriage have been through a drastic change over the time.

In 1996, Biden supported the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) that stated marriage can only take place between a man and a woman.

However, Biden changed his stance in 2010 and publicly advocated gay marriages during his Vice Presidency in 2012.
