It should have been done years ago. The footage from this infamous day doesn’t need to be hidden from the public.

We deserve to see it- we have a right to see it. And this is why we’re excited to see a conservative in the House Speaker seat. It may have taken Kevin McCarthy an unprecedented amount of votes to get the seat, but he did it.
Rep. McCarthy of California is a rookie in the House Speaker seat, but he’s taken to it like a veteran. On Thursday he stated he would be willing to release thousands of hours of security video from the Jan. 6, 2021, riot that took place at the U.S. Capitol Building.
This footage has yet to be seen by the general public. Isn’t that ridiculous? What have the liberals been hiding with this footage? Why are they so scared to release it?
We don’t have the answers yet, but hopefully, we will soon.
The California Republican made his remarks in response to a question from a reporter, “Congressman Gaetz said that you would be willing to do that.”
“Yeah, I think the public should see what’s happened on them,” McCarthy said.
“I watched what Nancy Pelosi did where she politicized it, where for the first time in the history as a speaker, not allowing the minority to appoint to a committee. To pick and choose,” McCarthy added. “We watched the politicization of this. I think the American public should actually see all what happened instead of a report that’s written for a political basis.
“I think the answer, we’re looking through that, I want to be very thoughtful about it, but yes, I’m engaged to do that,” the Speaker noted further.
McCarthy has a real shot here to prove his patriotism to America. There was some serious hesitation to put him in the Speaker’s seat, most coming from his own party. But if he’s willing to take on the Dems without any reservation then he’ll have proven himself.
He’ll need to act quickly and get this footage to the public without any further political fluff.
Congressman Matt Gaetz was leading the opposition against McCarthy becoming speaker, which resulted in days of balloting until the Californian finally won during a late-night session a week ago. He was forced to make a number of concessions to members of the Freedom Caucus.
In a tweet Thursday night, CNN reporter Melanie Zanona reported that the release of the Jan. 6 footage was a part of the deal to get enough support to put McCarthy over the top.
“It took a loss by a razor-thin margin in a late-night Round 14, a heated exchange with one of his sternest opponents, and a near-adjournment of the House till Monday to break a logjam unseen since before the Civil War,” the Associated Press reported after the 15th round of balloting.
“The final tally that put him over the top: 216 for McCarthy, 212 for Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries and 6 simply ‘present,’” the outlet stated.
The fight will have been worth it if McCarthy will turn out to be the patriot we all need him to be.
A video went viral of McCarthy approaching Gaetz after another exhausting round of voting, where Gaetz was still not supporting the party.
It’s over now. Gaetz cast his vote. McCarthy has the gavel. Let’s hope he’ll make some waves with it. Some massive red waves.
