The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has launched an inquiry into messages that appeared to glorify a horse ridden by a Mountie crushing a protester. The validity of the texts, which were obtained by Rebel News, has yet to be confirmed, according to The Daily Mail.

“Just viewed the horse footage – it is fantastic. Time for the protestors to hear our jackboots on the ground,” remarked another chatter.

“Don’t kick them all out till next week’s group has our chance,” another is believed to have urged. It comes as the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) revealed that it was looking into an incident in which a 49-year-old lady was seriously hurt after colliding with a police horse.

The RCMP also known as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and Ottawa police did not immediately react to DailyMail.com’s request for comment, so it is unknown whether the officers involved in the alleged texting incident will face disciplinary punishment.

“The #RCMP is aware of the social media content circulating about a chat group that includes some of its members.” The RCMP stated.

“We can confirm that we are investigating the situation,” the RCMP stated on Sunday. The Daily Wire said that police used tear gas and horses to break up the demonstration, adding that “in doing so, officials seemed to stomp one elderly woman using a walker as well as running over other protestors” with mounted cops.

According to reports, while the police crackdown began peacefully, by the evening in Ottawa, it had become more hostile and violent. Many of Ottawa police’s crowd control techniques were captured on film or camera.

“Keep this image in mind. Remember what Trudeau did to Canada,” online pundit Ian Miles Cheong stated in a tweet, accompanied with a photo of two demonstrators, one next to a walking device, who were allegedly pushed to the ground by police officers on horseback.

He appeared to corroborate this in a video he shared. “Trudeau is stomping down freedom,” he wrote. “One stomped protester at a time,” he says, before adding, “Remember Ottawa.”
