School board recalls have more than DOUBLED across the country as parents FIGHT BACK against RACIST Critical Race Theory

School board recalls have more than doubled as parents protest the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT).

According to Axios, “Just halfway through 2021, at least 51 local recall efforts involving K-12 school boards have been initiated this year, targeting at least 130 elected members of those boards.” Data from Ballotpedia, a non-partisan election monitoring organization, suggests this is twice the annual average of recalls. Parents are also motivated to push back against mask and vaccine mandates, along with CRT and campaigns such as Black Lives Matter at School and the 1619 Project.

California has the most ongoing recalls, currently at 22. The state recently decided to mandate masks for all students despite vaccination, contrary to CDC guidelines

Recall efforts emerged just as the largest teacher’s union, the National Education Association (NEA) vowed to ‘fight back against critical race theory critics’ and adopted legislation to promote the teachings.

The NEA wrote, “The Association will further convey that in teaching these topics, it is reasonable and appropriate for curriculum to be informed by academic frameworks for understanding and interpreting the impact of the past on current society, including critical race theory.”
