SAVAGE: Trump says he WILL NOT return to Twitter even if he is allowed back on the platform

Former United States president Donald Trump claimed this week that he would not return to posting on Twitter even if its new owner, Elon Musk, allowed him back on the platform after he was banned in 2021.

Twitter accepted Elon Musk’s offer to purchase the entire company for $44 billion this week, leaving many to wonder what changes await the popular social media site.

Musk said in a statement after the offer was formally accepted and announced that he planned to “enhance” the platform by making its algorithms public, adding an edit feature, and “authenticating all humans” to eliminate bots.

Musk also pointed to free speech as a “bedrock of a functioning democracy,” which leads many to believe he may reinstate former president Donald Trump and once again allow him to post on Twitter. However, Trump has said he has no plans to return to Twitter, and instead plans to stay on his own new social media platform, Truth Social. Trump has not yet formally joined Truth Social.

“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on Truth,” Trump told Fox News. “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on Truth.”

It is expected that Trump will be joining Truth as a user within the next seven days. The former president has been largely inactive on social media since his ban from Twitter and his 2 year suspension from Facebook.
