SAVAGE: Ted Cruz Roasts Bernie Sander’s $3.5 Trillion Spending Bill!

On Tuesday, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz couldn’t control his laughter and hilariously roasted Vermont Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders for rushing to barely catch Cruz’s elevator by jamming his foot between the doors as they closed.

Politico’s Andrew Desiderio described the incident on Twitter:

“Just watched Bernie Sanders literally sprint through the Senate subway to catch an elevator, put his fingers between the doors as they were about to shut, and walk inside — where an astonished Ted Cruz was cracking up.”

Ted Cruz confirmed this incident and savagely described his roast of Bernie in a Tweet while they were aboard the elevator:

“True. When he stuck his foot in the closing door, I told him, “I’ve said your bill is gonna cost an arm & a leg, but I didn’t mean it literally….”

This refers to Bernie Sanders seeking congressional approval for a $3.5 trillion in new government spending through a reconciliation bill which Sen. Ted Cruz is opposing.
