SAVAGE: Sen. Lindsey Graham says he’d would ‘go to war’ for conservative Chick-fil-a

In light of a Chick-fil-a controversy at the University of Notre Dame, Senator Lindsey Graham said he would ‘go to war’ for the fast-food chain.

“I hope we don’t have to, but I will go to war for the principles Chick-fil-A stands for. Great food. Great service. Great values,” Graham said in a tweet. Students opposed the opening of a new CFA restaurant in an open letter, their reasons for critique being “its anti-LGBTQ+ activism, reliance on animal agriculture, and lack of accommodations for students with special dietary needs, to name a few.”

Alleged homophobia, lack of climate awareness, and discrimination were the student’s primary grievances. In an article posted on The Observer, the students claimed, “Over the past two decades, Chick-fil-A has donated significant sums to groups that oppose LGBTQ+ rights.”

However, in its response, the university said, “Notre Dame has examined the concerns surrounding Chick-fil-A’s charitable giving, discussed them with company representatives, campus partners and students and believes that Chick-fil-A has responded to these issues in a satisfactory manner.” Notre Dame continued, “Our students have overwhelmingly expressed a desire to have a Chick-fil-A restaurant on campus, and we look forward to opening one early next year.”
