Protestors shut down Gaetz, Greene press conference

On Tuesday afternoon, Republican Representatives Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Paul Gosar, Louie Gohmert, Andy Biggs, and Bob Good held a press conference outside the DOJ building calling for transparency on the treatment of jailed January 6th protesters.

This press conference was soon interrupted by a group of protesters who showed up and started blowing whistles and screaming to intimidate the representatives. The lawmakers were then escorted away as some protestors started approaching the podium.

The representatives were demanding due process for the Capitol protestors and transparency in the investigation from the Biden Department of Justice.

This conference took place three days after Rep. Gaetz, Greene, Gohmert and Gosar sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland requesting an in-person meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

This fiery press briefing was held at the same time police officers were testifying on Capitol Hill before the new “bipartisan” Jan. 6 select committee with 7 Democrats and only two Republicans, Rep. Liz Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger.
