Portland Marks 100 Consecutive Days of Protests and Riots

Saturday, September 5 marked 100 consecutive days of protests and riots in Portland, Oregon against police brutality and systemic racism. Police declared Saturday’s protests a riot soon after it began as demonstrators were setting fires and throwing molotov cocktails, police have used tear gas. One protester was caught on fire from a molotov cocktail that was meant for police. Other protesters tried to put it out but it was police officers who gave aid to the man and put the flames out. The Portland Police Department made several loudspeaker announcements telling people to obey the law and that this march is not permitted. Several people have been arrested.
