Nice Try Fauci: Dr. Anthony Fauci Busted For Trying To Claim He Didn’t Take Part In Closing Schools, His Words Tell Otherwise

When a politician, celebrity, or average person changes their opinions, there are a few questions to ask. Do they flip-flop to meet a popular opinion? Is it because of new facts? Is it flip-flopping or a change of heart?

Dr. Anthony Fauci is careful with his words. He never directly says that specific actions need to take place or that he supports one way or another.
Epoch Times reported:
In May 2020, when Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told him that data shows that children aren’t at serious risk of severe COVID-19 complications, Fauci said that “I think we better be careful that we’re not cavalier, in thinking that children are completely immune to the deleterious effects.”
In other public settings and during interviews, Fauci also continuously warned about lifting restrictions for schools, which likely helped fuel extensions or more lockdowns of schools. In March 2020, Fauci said he would favor a nationwide lockdown and said the “worst is ahead” for COVID-19.
Fauci often said he wanted to reopen schools while saying businesses should remain closed. He would also change the narrative by saying he had no say or control over whether or not schools should be shut down.
On Fox News on March 13, 2020, Fauci said:
“Closing schools and doing other things should be proportionate. A lot of people, a lot of sections are doing it anyway. I don’t criticize them for that, they may get fatigued from that. But I would rather do that than do nothing.”
March 13, 2020, was also when Trump declared COVID a national emergency. What Fauci said on Fox that day, “doing something rather than nothing,” was valid. We weren’t that educated at the time, for COVID was still new.
However, that doesn’t excuse the fact that we allowed the illusion of security to continue to run rampant in exchange for our freedom.
Fauci then reappeared on Fox News at the end of this summer. He was doing his rounds on the media because he announced he would be stepping down from his current position.
He was on the Neil Cavuto show, and Cavuto asked:
“But in retrospect, doctor, do you regret that it went too far? Whatever your original intentions were, and it’s easy to be a Monday Morning Quarterback here, but that it went too far. That particularly for kids who couldn’t go to school except remotely, that it’s forever damaged them?”
“Well, I don’t think it’s forever irreparably damaged anyone,” Fauci replied.
Speaking of the damage done to the children. ACT scores have dropped, and the average for 2022 is the lowest average since 1991.
ACT reported:
42% of students met none ACT College Readiness Benchmarks and 22% met all four ACT College Readiness Benchmarks.
Back in 2020, Fauci acknowledged that there could be damaging effects on children if schools are kept closed for too long. In the year 2021, 38% of the test takers failed. Also, there has been an increase in stress and other mental health problems in adolescents.
Is Fauci a flip-flopper? Yes, but when it comes to the topic of school being kept closed, he was cautious with his words. He was never direct but said he was supportive of the decision. The topic of gain of function is a story for another day.
