Minneapolis Police Department Investigating Voter Fraud and Ballot Harvesting Claims Brought to Light by Project Veritas

The Minneapolis Police Department tweeted on Monday afternoon that they were aware of the allegations of potential ballot harvesting in Ward 6 and that they were investigating, but that no more information is able to be released at this time.

Sunday night Project Vertias, which is an undercover investigative reporting project, released a video of citing ballot harvesting in Minneapolis with ties to Representative Ilhan Omar. The video exposes workers in Ilhan Omar’s district being paid to gather absentee ballots from elderly Somali immigrants. On SnapChat, Liban Mohamed posted a video of him bragging and rifling through hundreds of ballots in his car. In the video he says, “Numbers don’t lie. You can see my car is full. All these here are absentee ballots… Look, all these are for Jamal Osman. Money is the king in this world…and a campaign is driven by money.”

Even President Trump has called for an investigation. In his tweet he calls out Rep. Ilhan Omar and her “many misdeeds”. “This is totally illegal. Hope the U.S. Attorney in Minnesota has this, and other of her many misdeeds, under serious review??? If not, why not??? We will win Minnesota because of her, and law enforcement. Saved Minneapolis & Iron O Range!”

For months, President Trump and Republicans have shouted concern of the validity and safety of voting by mail. Within the last month, there have been several instances proving that voting by mail isn’t as easy, safe, and valid as Democrats have promised.
