Media is STRUGGLING without Trump: CNN has lost OVER 75% of its audience since January, reports show

CNN’s ‘The Lead with Jake Tapper’ lost 75 percent in viewership since January, when the show fell from 2.8 million average views to 706,000 between May 31 and June 23.

Tapper’s second-quarter viewership is down 49% compared to the first quarter. CNN experienced a surge in viewership following the January 6 capitol riot, the inauguration of President Biden, and former President Trump’s second impeachment. However, these rates tapered off by the middle of the year. For instance, Tapper’s show was expanded by an hour in April, despite this, his rates did not increase.

Fox News reports, “‘The Lead’ averaged only 799,000 viewers during the 5-6 p.m. ET window through June 23, while Fox News’ “The Five” averaged 2.6 million during the same time slot to beat Tapper by a whopping 229%.” Opponents of CNN cite a deviation from a neutral and “just-the-facts” approach to broadcasting and reporting. Notably, personalities like Taper often speak out against Republicans.

For instance, when Trump was projected to lose the 2020 election, Taper noted that the “long national nightmare is over.” He has also suggested that the GOP has deviated from “normal political behavior” and his reporting simply follows that. CNN’s decrease in views potentially led to the cancellation of Don Lemon’s show. However, Lemon said he will not be leaving the network.
