It’s no surprise the women on the ABC talk show The View will do or say anything to defend the Democrats.
The latest Joe Biden classified documents scandal has them twisted into a pretzel trying to make it okay for Biden when in the case of Trump, it was equivalent to the world coming to an end.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg wrapped her defense of Biden in with a dig at former President Trump saying, “Presidents and vice presidents can declassify these. Not with their brains.”
She explained, “You have to go – there is something that you go through before it’s declassified, but this order came — it was expanded right after George Bush put it into place because George Bush made it so presidents could declassify. Obama stretched it to make it vice presidents.”
Goldberg’s rant continued, “I wish they would say all that while they’re explaining what’s going on because if you say, you know, ‘a classified document’, everybody goes, ‘Oh my God! How dare he keep that?’ And if these guys can declassify, presidents and vice presidents can declassify, are we chasing our tail with some of this?”
Her story undoubtedly changed since the Mar-a-Lago raid on Trump’s private residence.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former employee under the Trump administration, brought some common sense to the conversation saying that both Trump and Biden should be held to the same standard, something that is lacking in D.C. these days.
“So for President Biden to be able to declassify something, there has to be evidence he did, in fact, declassify it which is the thing Trump is trying to argue…There’s no evidence,” Griffin said.
Goldberg says that Trump didn’t go through the declassification process and said he did it with his mind.
“But is Biden even saying it?” co-host Ana Navarro inquired.
“I don’t think Biden’s saying that,” Griffin said.
“What I’m frustrated by is how brazen and dismissive President Biden has been of this. He said, ‘Anyone can be irresponsible but I have no regrets, there’s no there, there, but it was locked up in my corvette.’ It’s a very serious matter. One top-secret document can mean a grave risk to national security. It’s a bad fact pattern for him. I said it last week, I think we’re going to find more documents. At some point, I think he needs to say, ‘There may be more. I open up any residences I have been in, you know, to be searched,’ but cooperation doesn’t negate the fact he had these wrongly in the first place.”
Goldberg chimed in to defend Biden saying that we don’t know if he had them “wrongly.”
The point Griffin seems to be making is how cavalier Biden has been about the whole thing.
The media went crazy when classified documents were discovered at Mar-a-Lago, locked up, and with Secret Service present.
Biden’s classified documents were in a garage next to his corvette in Delaware, definitely not a secure environment.
No matter which side you stand with, one thing is clear, these cases should go through the same scrutiny and inquiry.
