The race is quickly filling up with conservative hopefuls. If Republicans can ban together Biden won’t stand a chance.
But that means we’ll need to elect a nominee that won’t be divisive and will work to unite the party and not ostracize fellow patriots.
“Rep. @Jim_Jordan, a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus, stands with @realDonaldTrump,” the MAGA War Room said on Twitter.
That is indeed a major endorsement.
Jordan has been outspoken in his support for the former president as he recently tore into Democrats for the reason he believes Trump has faced so many investigations.
The announcement comes on the heels of Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy endorsing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for the 2024 presidential race, even though DeSantis has not yet announced he’s running.
“It’s time for younger, but proven, leadership to offer America eight solid years of transformational change,” Roy said in a fundraising email. “It’s time for Ron DeSantis to be President of the United States.”
Roy may be on to something. Proven leadership is what America needs.
Jordan says the now-disbanded Democrat-led House Committee investigating the incident at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was a “political operation” aimed at stopping Donald Trump from running for president in 2024.
“There’s been subpoenas issued to 11 individuals, 11 American citizens who asked the government permission on an application to hold the Trump rally. The government granted it and the January 6 committee petitioned them to ask them questions about exercising their First Amendment right to assemble. And why would they subpoena me? I didn’t do anything wrong — I talked to the president. I talk to the president all the time. I just think that’s — you know where I’m at on this commission — this is all about going after President Trump. That seems obvious,” Jordan said.
“Everyone in the country sees this as a political operation. This is designed to get after President Trump. Because they don’t want him to run again,” he added.
But then again, maybe some patriots are just fed up with the divisive politics. Perhaps we’re eager to be inspired by a leader who doesn’t resort to name calling and tantrum throwing.
House Republicans issued a scathing report earlier this year exposing California Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi for her role in security and intelligence failures at the U.S. Capitol on January 6 when she was the speaker of the House.
Emails and text messages from Pelosi’s office reveal her staff held regular meetings discussing security detail, helped edit authorities’ plans, and turned down several requests from federal law enforcement needed to protect the Capitol on that day.
“Days after Pelosi’s Jan. 6 select committee recommended insurrection charges against former president Donald Trump over the Capitol riot, Republicans have hit back with a counter-investigation apportioning blame for the internal security breakdown on Jan. 6 to Pelosi and a dysfunctional Capitol Police intelligence division,” New York Post reported.
The New York Post also reported:
“Leadership and law enforcement failures within the U.S. Capitol left the complex vulnerable on January 6, 2021,” says the report, which is based on a trove of texts and email messages, and testimony from Capitol Police leaders and rank-and-file officers.
House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving, who answered to Pelosi as one of three voting members of the Capitol Police Board, “succumbed to political pressures from the Office of Speaker Pelosi and House Democrat leadership,” was “compromised by politics and did not adequately prepare for violence at the Capitol.”
No one is surprised by that report. But we are surprised and maybe a tad bit excited to see the number of candidates turn up for the Republican nomination.
