Jen Psaki No Show At White House Press Briefing

Following a tumultuous press conference Tuesday that saw Psaki take the form of an inarticulate mouthpiece for Biden’s new masking mandates, Press Secretary Jen Psaki has withdrawn from her scheduled appearance on Thursday for a press briefing at the White House.

It was at Tuesday’s press conference where Psaki, eager to not lose the contest of public gaffes to her boss, acknowledged the “…awkward timing” of the CDC’s new guidelines, of which data has yet to be released justifying its existence.

Psaki, and indeed the entire Biden administration’s unflinching and unquestioning dependence on the CDC would give one pause to consider the change. “We will of course be abiding by every aspect of the CDC guidelines on masking that they will provide this afternoon“, Psaki bleated during the conference.

Later on in the conference, Psaki, apparently wanting visual aids to accompany her presentation of pointlessness, pulled up an infographic behind her with the broad statement that almost all COVID related deaths and hospitalizations are are among the unvaccinated masses.

When asked the ridiculously reasonable question as to why, if the vaccines are so effective, do Americans need to wear masks again, Psaki floundered in a small masterpiece of evasion. “Because public health leaders in our administration have made the determination, based on data, that that is a way to make sure they’re protected, their loved ones are protected, and that’s an extra step, given the transmissibility of the virus … that they’re advising people to take,” she replied.“.

In the wake of Tuesday’s conference, Psaki withdrew from a planned trip to Biden’s home state of Pennsylvania and cowered away from a press briefing taking place today. Prominent Conservative new outlet, Breitbart News questioned the White House about Psaki’s absence, but were greeted with a predictable, but nonetheless thunderous silence.
