Alleged comedian Kathy Griffin has been in the news more in the last week than she has since her ridiculous Trump head fiasco. Of course, the publicity has nothing to do with her inexplicable career. It is completely and totally tied to her shenanigans on Twitter.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk permanently suspended Hollywood comedian Kathy Griffin from Twitter last night after reaching his limit with her nonsense. Musk seemed to soften his stance later mocking her earlier refusal to pay for her blue checkmark with: “If she really wants her account back, she can have it. For $8.”

It is now being reported by, of all places, CNN that:

Twitter has suspended comedian Kathy Griffin for impersonating the company’s new owner, Elon Musk.

Griffin appeared to be the first celebrity to lose her tweeting privileges after a wave of prominent users impersonated Musk over the weekend, with the goal of underscoring potential flaws in the social media company’s plans for a revised verification system.

Musk has made an $8 Twitter subscription plan his signature bid to bolster the company’s revenue. The new plan was hastily rolled out over the weekend before the company ultimately decided to delay the service until after the midterms.

CNN went on to report that:

The updated Twitter Blue subscription plan gives paying users the ability to get a blue check mark on their profiles, an option previously available exclusively to verified celebrities, politicians, journalists and other public figures.

Musk proposed the new feature as a way to fight spam on the platform.

But the partially rolled-out plan faced widespread backlash, and in a display of defiance, some celebrities on the platform posed as Musk over the weekend, complete with a blue check mark on their profiles.

It was further reported by Yahoo Entertainment that:

Elon Musk cast some doubt on his own declaration that comedy is now ‘legal” on Twitter after suspending several accounts — including those belonging to actual comedians Sarah Silverman and Kathy Griffin — for parodying him over the weekend.

Yahoo Entertainment went on to report that:

Taking advantage of these last fleeting days before a blue checkmark costs $8 a month, Griffin and Silverman changed their profile pictures and display names to match Musk’s and had a bit of fun.

For instance, Silverman pointedly tested the courage of Musk’s convictions, tweeting, “I am a freedom of speech absolutist and I eat doody for breakfast every day.”

Griffin, meanwhile, used the bit for some pre-midterms rallying, writing, “After much spirited discussion with the females in my life, I’ve decided that voting blue for their choice is only right. (They’re also sexy females, btw.) #VoteBlueToProtectWomen.”

Elon Musk and the take over at Twitter has made the left simply lose its minds. In fact, we reported just earlier today that As celebrities continue to announce their departure from Twitter, it’s more and more apparent that they don’t like the new rules.

Allowing voices that they don’t like on the platform has made it an “unsafe place” and “a cesspool of hate” according to their “I’m leaving Twitter” posts.

On Monday’s episode of ABC’s The View, one of the hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, offered her opinion, calling Twitter “a mess” since billionaire Elon Musk became the owner of the social media platform.
