California continues to be one of the worst states in the country. It is a sad fact, knowing that a state like California, a state with vast resources and a great climate, is at the same level as a third-world country.
The exodus from California has mostly been conservatives, the middle class, and the lower class. However, there have been celebrities leaving the state as well.
There are plenty of reasons why people are escaping from the woke nightmare state. The housing crisis, the homelessness, the filthy streets, the ever-growing crime rates, and the taxes are just a few.
The COVID-19 shutdowns and restrictions caused many small business owners to go out of business. Legislators have raised the income tax rate to nearly 17% while the sales tax is over 7%.
Put simply, a person who makes $50,000 a year would have to pay $9,679 in state and federal taxes. A person who makes $100,000 a year would have to shell out $28,923. Those who make $500,000 a year would have to pay a whopping $210,949!
As the saying goes, “you will run out of the other person’s money.” Mainly because rich people will leave. California state legislators are now discussing an “exit tax” for rich residents who want to leave California. Even if rich people like Elon Musk left, he would still have to pay taxes to California for up to 10 years after moving out.
So far, the bill (AB 2088) has not passed legislation, but it isn’t dead. All the more reason why rich people are starting to get out of dodge.
Joe Rogan left because of the high taxes and ridiculous lockdown regulations. Chris Hemsworth left because Hollywood has a “suffocating atmosphere.” Although, one would think Australia isn’t any better.
Christy Carlson Romano, the child star from shows such as “Even Stevens” and “Kim Possible,” left Hollywood for Austin, TX. She currently has her own Youtube channel and is open about the struggles of being a Disney star.
Mark Wahlberg has recently moved to Nevada. He appeared on the TV show, “The Talk” and explained why he wanted to leave.
Appearing on Tuesday’s episode of “The Talk,” Wahlberg opened up about the “biggest challenge” he faces while having to balance his career and being a family man.
“I want to be able to work from home,” Wahlberg, 51, said. “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there.”
“So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us.”
Wahlberg listed his Beverly Hills home for $87.5 million. The mansion had 12 bedrooms, 20 bathrooms, a home theater, a wine cellar, and many other extraordinary things that the average person can only dream about.

Wahlberg purchased a home in Summerlin for $15.6 million. It is the same location where Graham Stephan, a real estate investor, moved to Nevada from California.
Wahlberg stated in his interview that he plans to build a new studio and make it “Hollywood 2.0.” He wants his family to have a new look and a fresh new start. It will be curious to see what he means by creating a new Hollywood.
